Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a gift” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَقُولُ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَدِيَّةً،
So he says, "Whoever wishes to send a gift to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,"
هَدِيَّةً — a gift. An indefinite noun naming the gift, left without 'the' because it is any gift, not a particular one; its accusative ending marks it as the object of the sending. It is the thing 'whoever' would send.
