Arabic vocabulary
How to say “account” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي فَأَخْبَرَهَا الْخَبَرَ
I was truly afraid for my self, so I told her the news.
الْخَبْرَ — the news. This noun carries the 'the' marker as the specific, known news, and its accusative ending marks it as the second object, the thing told. So 'told her the news' has her as the one told and this as what was told.
From: The Night of Revelation and Consolation →فَأَخْبَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَبَرَ مَا رَأَى
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, then told him what he had seen.
خَبَرَ — the report. This noun is the thing told, the object of 'told him' from earlier, so it wears the accusative (the receiving-the-action ending). It also opens a possessive link to the relative clause after it, setting up 'the report of what he saw' as the content delivered.
