How to say “al-Khudri” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ سِنَانَ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
From Abu Sa'id Sa'd ibn Malik ibn Sinan al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him.
الْخُدْرِيِّ — al-Khudri. This is a relational adjective (a 'belonging-to' name) tying the man to a tribe or place, and it carries 'al-' (the). It agrees with the person being named and keeps the 'of...' (genitive) ending of the whole chain, rounding out the full identification with his lineage-by-affiliation.
