وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ سِنَانَ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
From Abu Sa'id Sa'd ibn Malik ibn Sinan al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him.
سِنَانَ — Sinan. This is the earlier ancestor's name, owned by the second 'son of' before it, so it wears the 'of...' (genitive) ending. It marks the far end of the recited lineage, the oldest forefather named in this stretch of the chain of transmission.
