وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ وَطَاعَةِ رَسُولِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسُلَّمَ بُدٌّ،
And there was no avoiding obedience to God and obedience to His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.
بُدٌّ — avoiding. An indefinite noun meaning 'escape/avoiding (it)', the subject of the existential 'there was'; under the negation it yields 'there was no avoiding'. Its indefinite 'n'-ending fits the 'no... at all' sense. It names the (absent) way out.
