Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be patient” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ تَعَالَىٰ ﴿فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ﴾
Allah, the Exalted, said: "So be patient; indeed, the promise of Allah is true, and seek forgiveness for your sin."
فَاصْبِرْ — so be patient. This fuses a 'so/then' connector to a command-form verb 'be patient', the consequence drawn from the preceding context. The imperative is built by stripping the present down to its bare command shape, and the 'so' frames patience as the called-for response.
