Arabic vocabulary
How to say “befalls you” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ لَهُ أَلَسْتَ تَزَعْمُ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصِيبُكَ إِلَّا مَا كُتِبَ اللَّهُ لَكَ
So he said to him, "Do you not claim that nothing will befall you except what God has decreed for you?"
يُصِيبُكَ — befalls you. A present-tense verb 'befalls', with the 'you' object suffixed onto its end, so the single word holds both the action and its target. The negation before it and the 'except' after it pin the verb inside an 'only X befalls you' frame, narrowing what can possibly happen.
