Arabic vocabulary
How to say “by Allah” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَصَدَقَ وَاللهِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَأَمَّا الْحَدِيثُ فَمَا فِيهِ حَصْرُ الْكَبَائِرِ
And by Allah, Ibn Abbas was correct. As for the Hadith, it does not limit the major sins.
وَاللَّهِ — and by Allah. A fused 'and' plus the divine name in an oath form, 'and by Allah'. The leading particle here functions as a swearing word, forcing the name into the (genitive) form to make a solemn vow.
