وَيَا عُظْمَ الْمُصِيبَةِ عِنْدَمَا يَتَبَيَّنُ بَوَارِقَ أَمَانِيهِ خُلَّبًا،
And how great is the calamity when the dazzling flashes of his hopes become clear and he is deceived.
الْمُصِيبَةِ — the calamity. A definite noun completing the 'of' pair, 'the greatness of the calamity', and genitive as the owner. The two nouns side by side carry the possession with no 'of'; together they name the single thing the exclamation marvels at, the size of the disaster.

الْمُصِيبَة — the calamity. A definite noun carrying 'the', naming the specific disaster in view; it is held in the genitive by the 'because of' phrase governing it. Its feminine shape will be picked up by the relative word that follows.
