  Al-Hasan said, 'Indeed, these hearts live and die. When they are alive, push them toward extra acts of worship; and when they die, push them toward the obligatory acts.'

  فَاحْمِلُوهَا — carry them. This is fa- 'then' (the answer to the 'when') plus the command 'carry them', with the attached -ha 'them' pointing back to the hearts. The fa- here marks the result side of the condition, the 'then-do-this' half.
