Arabic vocabulary
How to say “container” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما ملأ ابن آدم وعاء شرا من بطنه،
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: A human fills no container worse than his stomach.
وِعَاءً — container. This is the object of 'filled', 'a vessel', its object ending marking it as what gets filled, and left indefinite as 'any vessel'. The indefiniteness sets up the sweeping claim that follows.
