وإن زللتَ فـأستغفرُ الله معناها طلبُ سترِ الذنب مع عزمٍ على إصلاحه؛ فالاستغفارُ بلا تصحيحٍ مجرّدُ صوت
And if you slip, 'I seek forgiveness from Allah' means asking for the concealing of the sin with a resolve to correct it; seeking forgiveness without correction is merely sound.
تَصْحِيحٍ — correction. 'correction', genitive after 'bila', indefinite — the missing ingredient. Asking pardon without it is hollow.

تَصْحِيحِ — correcting. An action-noun, 'the validating of,' in the -i form after 'for.' It heads an 'of' pair: validating his school. His argument aims not at truth but at making his side look right.
