Arabic vocabulary
How to say “dew” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثم يرسل الله أو قال ينزل الله مطرا كأنه الطل أو الظل،
Then Allah will send—or he said: Allah will send down—rain like dew or shade,
الطَّلُّ — dew. This is the predicate of 'as if it were...' — 'the dew', nominative (ka'anna bends the subject, not the predicate). So the rain is likened to fine dew. An alternative likeness follows.
