Arabic vocabulary
How to say “mist” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثم يرسل الله أو قال ينزل الله مطرا كأنه الطل أو الظل،
Then Allah will send—or he said: Allah will send down—rain like dew or shade,
الظِّلُّ — mist. This is the second predicate of 'as if it were...' — 'the shade', nominative, coordinated with 'dew'. So the rain is as soft as dew or shade. It shares the predicate role with its twin.
