How to say “diverts” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
ويصرفه عن الخشوع في التلاوة لله
and it diverts him from humility in reciting for Allah.
وَيَصْرِفُهُ — and it diverts him. The conjunction adds a present-tense verb, it turns him away, with the object 'him' attached and the subject still the over-fussiness from before. The verb continues the parallel, naming a second thing the fussiness does to him.
From: When Recitation Breeds Pride →فقال من طلب العلم ليجاري به العلماء، ويماري به السفهاء، ويصرف به وجوه الناس اليه أدخله الله النار
He said: 'Whoever seeks knowledge to compete with the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, or to turn people's faces towards him, Allah will admit him into the Fire.'
وَيَصْرِفَ — or to turn. Joined by 'and', a third purpose verb in the same chain, still held in the subjunctive shape by the governing purpose-sense. The repeated subjunctive endings stitch the three aims together as one continuous 'in order to' clause.
