We found the scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, differed regarding them. It was said they are seven, citing the Prophet's saying: 'Avoid the seven destructive sins'.
آلِهِ — his family. A noun, 'family', with a possessor on its end pointing back to the Prophet, so one word means 'his family'. It is in the (genitive) form because the 'upon' before it governs it, naming the further recipients of the blessing.
