Arabic vocabulary
How to say “fear (you plural)” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهُمْ الَّذِينَ تَقُولُ لَهُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ أَلَا تَخَافُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا
They are the ones to whom the angels say at the time of death, Do not fear and do not grieve.
تَخَافُوا — fear (you plural). A second-person plural verb addressed to a group, and the surrounding negation turns it into a prohibition: 'do not fear'. The plural ending shows the angels speak to many people at once, and the verb's mood is set by the negating word that scopes over it.
