Arabic vocabulary
How to say “grieve (you plural)” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهُمْ الَّذِينَ تَقُولُ لَهُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ أَلَا تَخَافُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا
They are the ones to whom the angels say at the time of death, Do not fear and do not grieve.
تَحْزَنُوا — grieve (you plural). A second-person plural verb under the prohibition opened just before it, giving 'do not grieve'. Its plural ending keeps the same group of addressees as 'do not fear', and the preceding negator fixes its prohibitive mood.
