How to say “Friday” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
جمعة الدفتان من أول الحمد لله رب العالمين إلى آخر قل أعوذ برب الناس كلام الله
Friday of the Two Booklets: from the beginning, "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds," to the end, "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind." The Word of God.
جُمْعَةُ — Friday. This is the head noun of a title, standing alone as the topic of the heading. Because it opens a label rather than a sentence, it carries no verb and simply names the day; the words that follow narrow down which Friday is meant. Arabic lets a bare noun like this serve as a full caption with nothing else attached.
