How to say “the worlds” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
جمعة الدفتان من أول الحمد لله رب العالمين إلى آخر قل أعوذ برب الناس كلام الله
Friday of the Two Booklets: from the beginning, "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds," to the end, "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind." The Word of God.
العالمين — the worlds. This is the owner-noun closing the 'Lord of the worlds' pairing, so it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending. It is a plural, and being the second noun in the chain it supplies the definiteness for 'Lord' before it; Arabic joins the two directly with no linking word.
