Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his neck” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ـ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ـ دَعْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَضْرِبْ عُنْقَهُ
So Umar, may God be pleased with him, said, "Leave me, O Messenger of God; let me cut off his neck."
عُنْقَهُ — his neck. A noun with an attached 'his' pronoun marking the possessor. The suffix folds possession into the noun, sparing a separate word, and it points back to the man under discussion, so the neck is identified as belonging to him.
