الإِسْلَامِ — Islamic. 'Islam,' in the -i form, owned in 'the sciences of Islam.' The body of knowledge logic is denied a place in — the author sets it outside the Islamic disciplines entirely.

الْإِسْلَامُ — Islam. A definite noun 'Islam' serving as the subject of a defining sentence, in the subject (nominative) form. It is what is being defined, and the clause beginning with the next particle gives its definition.
