How to say “keep watch at your posts” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ تَعَالَىٰ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اِصْبِرُوا وَصَابِرُوا وَرَابِطُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْلَحُونَ
Allah, the Exalted, said: O you who have believed, be patient, persevere, keep watch at your posts, and fear Allah, so that you may succeed.
وَرَابِطُوا — keep watch at your posts. wa- adds a third plural command ('and hold your posts'), parallel to the prior orders. The conjunction keeps the chain of imperatives on one level, each a directive to the same group.
