الْحُبَّ — love. The object of 'claimed', accusative ('-a'), definite. The love you professed.
From: Remembering and Loving God →
And for those created with the power of love for Allah, and returning to Him, and devotion to Him with the heart, and longing for Him, and intimacy with Him, their pleasure and bliss is in using this strength for those purposes.
الْحُبِّ — of love. 'Love', the owner completing 'the power of love', genitive, definite. The faculty of loving.
From: Directing Desire Toward God →
And this only comes from him when His love is firmly rooted in his heart.
حُبُّهُ — His love. The delayed subject of 'takes hold', in the '-u' ending. The '-hu' names who is loved, not who loves, 'love for Him', the same objective use seen before; so it is love of God that becomes rooted.
