فقد ذكر فيه أسماء جماعة ثم لم ينقل عنهم شيئًا من ذلك،
Yet it mentioned the names of a group, then reported nothing of that from them.
أَسْمَاءُ — the names. A noun, 'names', the subject of the passive 'were mentioned', and it heads a possessive pairing with 'a group' after it. As the leading noun of that pairing it takes no 'the' and leans onto what it owns.
