Arabic vocabulary
How to say “pale” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَمَّا قَفَلُوا قَالَ سَلَمَةُ رَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَاحِبًا
When they had gone, Salamah said, "The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw me pale."
شَاحِبًا — pale. A describing word in the state-ending, telling the condition the speaker was in when seen: pale. This ending marks it as a side-circumstance attached to the action, so it answers 'in what state' rather than naming a separate thing.
