How to say “practicing” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
علم الحديث والمحدثون فغالبهم لا يفقهون ولا همة لهم في معرفة الحديث ولا في التدين به، بل الصحيح والموضوع عندهم بنسبة
The science of Hadith and its scholars: most of them do not understand, nor do they care about knowing the Hadith or practicing it; rather, the authentic and the fabricated are the same to them.
التَّدَيُّنِ — practicing. An action-noun with al- 'the' for 'religious commitment/practising', in the genitive because 'in' governs it. The al- makes the practice definite, and the action-noun packs the whole idea of 'living by it' into one naming word. It is the second field of missing zeal after 'knowing'.
