لَتَنَفُّسٌ — indeed a relief. A front emphatic 'la-', the 'surely / indeed' marker that introduces the result of the counterfactual, fused onto a noun built from a verb ('a breathing, relief'). The la- stamps the outcome as the emphatic answer to the earlier 'had he...' clause.
