How to say “transition” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَصْرُ طُولِ النَّهَى، وَلَوْ فَكَّكَهَا بِالِانْتِقَالِ مِنْ حَالٍ إِلَى حَالٍ لَتَنَفُّسٌ عَنْهَا ضِيقُ العُقْدَةِ،
He shortened the duration of his restraint; had he loosened it by shifting from one state to another, relief from the tightness of the knot would have followed.
بِالِانْتِقَالِ — by the transition. One unit fusing a preposition 'by means of / through' onto a definite noun. It marks the method of the loosening, 'by the shifting', so the bi- assigns the instrument role and the al- makes the means a specific known one.
