Arabic vocabulary
How to say “speak” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كما قال تعالى ﴿فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنْطِقُونَ﴾
As Allah the Exalted said: 'By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, indeed, it is the truth just as you are speaking.'
تَنْطِقُونَ — are speaking. A present-tense verb 'you (all) speak', the plural 'you' built into its ending. The ending marks the address as plural; the clause likens the Quran's reality to the plain fact that the hearers speak.
