How to say “steadfastness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَعْرِفَةٌ وَعِلْمٌ زَادَ فِي السَّعْيِ وَالْجَمْزِ بِقَدْرِ التِّفَاتِهِ أَوْ أَكْثَرَ،
If he has familiarity and knowledge, he increases his effort and steadfastness in proportion to how often he turns to him, or even more.
وَالْجَمْزِ — and the steadfastness. The wa- joins a second field of increase, 'and quickening of pace', alongside effort, so it links two parallel objects of the same striving. The noun keeps the definite al- and the genitive ending shared with its partner under 'in'. The connector keeps the two areas parallel.
