زَادَنِي — brought me. Past-tense verb 'zada' = 'it increased, added'; '-ni' = 'me', so 'increased me'.

زَادَ — he surpassed. A past-tense verb 'exceeded / went beyond', subject 'he' inside. He outdid the standard.

أَزِيدُ — add to. A present verb 'add / increase', with 'I' built into its shape — 'I [will] add'. The subject rides in the verb. It pairs with the preposition next to say add ONTO what.

Then he carried his waterskin and his provisions to the mosque,
وَزَادَهُ — and his provisions. Opens with wa- 'and', adding a second object to the carrying, and carries the attached 'his' on its end. The conjunction links it to the first object so both are carried together.

If he has familiarity and knowledge, he increases his effort and steadfastness in proportion to how often he turns to him, or even more.
زَادَ — he increased. A completed-action verb 'he increased', the main verb of the result clause answering the 'if'. Though past in form, in this conditional it reads as a habitual present: 'he steps up'. Its 'he' subject is the man, carried inside the verb.

زَادَ — he adds. A past-tense verb 'added' continuing the 'whoever' condition through the 'or'. Its 'he' doer is built in and is the same unspecified 'whoever'. It names the second offence, parallel in form to the earlier 'denied'.
