and such excessive articulation in its recitation distracts him from pondering the meanings of the Book of Allah, the Exalted,
بِحَيْثُ — such that. This is a compound connective meaning 'to such a degree that', built from the preposition 'by' fused with a word for 'where/manner'. It introduces a clause of extent, telling how far the fussiness goes, and governs the verb that follows.
