Arabic vocabulary
How to say “Talib” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ أَبُو طَالِبِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلْنَا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمِ،
Abu Talib said, "Praise be to God, who made us from the descendants of Abraham."
طَالِبِ — Talib. This is the second half of the 'father of X' pairing begun by the previous word, so it is the owner that completes the name. Because it sits in that owned-by slot, Arabic gives it the genitive (the 'of' ending), which is how a listener hears that the two words form one bonded name unit.
