Arabic vocabulary
الْوَعْيِ is how you say “the awareness” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَقَدْ تَلَقَّاهَا عَنْهُمْ آخَرُونَ هُمْ عَلَى دَرَجَةٍ عَلِيَّةٍ مِنَ الْفَهْمِ وَالْوَعْيِ،
And others received it from them, people of a high degree of understanding and awareness.
وَالْوَعْيِ — and the awareness. 'Wa-' joins this to the previous quality as a second item, so it too is governed by the explicative 'of' and stands in the genitive. With 'al-' it is definite, naming awareness alongside understanding.
