Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the truthful” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنَّهُمْ هُمْ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا،
And that they are those on whom Allah has bestowed favor: the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. Those are excellent companions.
وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ — and the truthful. The leading wa- ('and') links this category to the previous one inside the same list, so it is a list-joining 'and' rather than a sentence connector. The noun keeps the definite al- and the genitive plural ending shared by every item, marking it as another slice of the favoured group. The connector simply adds it to the running roster without restarting the sentence.
