وَخَضَعَ — and becomes humble. The joined 'and' plus a past-tense verb carrying its own 'he' subject, continuing the chain of results once a man reflects. It names his becoming humble.
From: A Path to Mercy →وَمَنْ خَضَعَ لِإِنْسَانٍ مَعَ بُغْضِهِ لَهُ لَا يَكُونُ عَابِدًا لَهُ
And whoever submits to a person with his hatred for him is not a worshipper for him.
خَضَعَ — he submitted. The verb is past in form but reads as a general rule under the 'whoever' before it, so it covers anyone who acts this way, not one finished event. Arabic often uses the past shape inside such conditions to state a timeless principle; the meaning is habitual, 'submits', despite the past form.
