How to say “to do good” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقَوْلُهُمْ احْذَرْ شَرَّ مَنْ أَحْسَنْتَ إِلَيْهِ، مَذْكُورٌ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى وَمَا نَقَمُوا إِلَّا أَنْ أَغْنَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ
And their saying: 'Beware of the evil of the one you did good to' is mentioned in His saying: 'And they resented it only because Allah and His Messenger had enriched them from His bounty.'
أَحْسَنْتَ — you did good. Past-tense 'you did good, treated well', addressed to one male, the 'you' subject in the ending. It sits inside the relative clause, describing the person warned about as one you had been kind to. The masculine-singular addressee is marked by the verb's shape.
