How to say “to think” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
بأن يتفكر في قبح صورته عند الغضب، وفي سوء عاقبة ما يصدر منه
by thinking about the ugliness of his appearance when angry, and the bad consequences of what he does.
يَتَفَكَّرَ — he thinks. A present-tense verb in the subjunctive shape, forced by the preceding particle: that he reflect. The clipped ending is the visible mark of the subjunctive; the verb carries its own 'he' subject.
