How to say “your brothers” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى ﴿قُلْ إِنْ كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ
Allah the Exalted said: Say, if your fathers, your sons, your brothers, and your wives
وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ — and your brothers. Again wa- adds a list item and -kum, 'your', attaches as the plural possessor to this plural noun. The pattern repeats deliberately, stacking kin upon kin, each owned by the addressed audience, to build the weight of worldly attachments.
