Arabic vocabulary
How to say “a prophet” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَدَلِيلُ هَذَا أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَبْعَثْ نَبِيًّا قَطُّ إِلَّا وَهُوَ كَرِيمٌ
The proof of this is that God Almighty has never sent a prophet except that he was generous.
نَبِيًّا — a prophet. This indefinite noun is the thing sent and so wears the object ending, shown by its doubled 'an' tail. It is the prophet the verb's denial reaches.
