How to say “become complete” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يَتَنَاوَبُونَ آيَاتًا مِنْ سُوَرٍ مُخْتَلِفَاتٍ إِلَى أَنْ يَتَكَامَلُوا قِرَاءَةً،
And they continue taking turns reciting verses from different chapters until their recitation is complete.
يَتَكَامَلُوا — they become complete. A present-tense plural verb pushed into the subjunctive by the 'until that' before it, which is why its ending is clipped (the plural-marking final letter drops). The mood marks the completing as the aim being reached toward. The plural carries the 'they' subject.
