How to say “recitation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يَتَنَاوَبُونَ آيَاتًا مِنْ سُوَرٍ مُخْتَلِفَاتٍ إِلَى أَنْ يَتَكَامَلُوا قِرَاءَةً،
And they continue taking turns reciting verses from different chapters until their recitation is complete.
قراءة — recitation. A verbal noun 'recitation' in the object-style case, used here to specify in what respect they become complete ('complete as to recitation'). Arabic uses this accusative-of-specification to pin down the angle a statement applies to. It rounds off the completion clause.
