Arabic vocabulary
How to say “bedding” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَخَذَهُ مَعَهُ فِي فِرَاشِهِ وَأَلْصَقَهُ بِأَحْشَائِهِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ وَقَدْ فَتَرَ الْمَاءُ
So he took it with him in his bed and pressed it against his entrails until it became morning and the water had cooled.
فِرَاشِهِ — his bed. This noun has the 'his' pronoun glued onto its end, marking the bed as his, and it sits in the genitive because the 'in' before it governs it. So a possessor and a preposition's object combine in one word. The -hi points back to al-Fadl.
