How to say “captures” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
حتى لو أن أحدكم دخل في كبد جبل، لدخلته عليه حتى تقبضه،
Even if one of you were to enter the core of a mountain, it would enter upon him to take his soul.
تَقْبِضَهُ — it captures them. A present verb 'seizes / takes' in the subjunctive after 'until' (its ending clipped to '-a'), feminine for the wind, with '-hu' = 'him' — 'until it takes him'. The subjunctive marks the seizing as the aim worked toward.
