يَا رَسُول الله لَو أَن أحدهم نظر إِلَى مَا تَحت قَدَمَيْهِ لَأَبْصَرنَا تَحت قَدَمَيْهِ
O Messenger of Allah, if one of them were to look beneath his feet, he would see us.
أَحَدَهُمْ — one of them. 'One' with '-hum' (of them) attached, in the accusative ('-a') because 'anna' governs it — 'one of them'. The supposed looker; the suffix is partitive, one of the pursuers.

I have not known anyone who has heard of Paradise and Hell to have an hour pass without obeying God through remembrance, prayer, reading, or charity.
أَحَدًا — anyone. The subject of 'that', wearing the accusative '-an' because 'anna' governs it. In this negative frame the word means 'a single soul, anyone at all', the person the speaker says he has never found.

and a prophet with nobody with him until a vast multitude was raised for me, and I thought it was my nation,
أَحَدٌ — nobody. This is the subject of 'there is not' — 'anyone', in the nominative — 'no one is with him'. The 'laysa ma'ahu ahad' frame says not a single follower stood with him. Its nominative ending marks it as the subject of the negating verb.

No one will remain on the face of the earth with an atom's weight of goodness or faith in their heart except that the wind will take their soul.
أَحَدٌ — one. This is the subject of 'will remain', nominative — 'anyone'. After the 'no' before it, it means 'no one [will remain]...'. A relative-like description of that 'anyone' follows.

Even if one of you were to enter the core of a mountain, it would enter upon him to take his soul.
أَحَدَكُمْ — one of you. This is 'one of you' with attached 'you', and it wears the accusative because the 'that' before it forced that case — even though it is the subject of 'entered'. The pronoun addresses the listeners. So 'if one of you entered...'.

So no one will hear it except that they will tilt one side of their neck and raise the other,
أَحَدٌ — one. This is the subject of 'hears', nominative — 'anyone'. After the 'no', it means 'no one hears it except...'. The exception follows.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'None of you should advance towards anything until I am ahead of him.'
أَحَدٌ — anyone. This indefinite noun, 'anyone', is the subject of the banned advancing, placed after its verb. The indefinite form fits the sweeping 'not a single one'; it sets up the partitive 'anyone of you' with the next word.

One of them is that He, exalted be He, is above all His creation.
أَحَدُهَا — one of them. A noun 'one' with a 'them/their' ending, 'one of them', the suffix pointing back to the several matters mentioned. Arabic attaches the partitive 'of them' as a suffix rather than a separate phrase.

and may Allah have mercy on him, he was one of the pious and among the true friends of Allah.
أَحَدَ — one of. This noun is the predicate of the earlier 'was', telling what he was, so it takes the object form the copula assigns. It heads an 'of' pairing, 'one of the God-fearing'.

As Allah, the Exalted, said: 'So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.'
أَحَدًا — anyone. A bare indefinite noun, 'anyone', the object of 'associate'. Without 'the' and inside a prohibition, it sweeps to mean 'not a single other'.

That is, he should not show off with his deeds to anyone.
أَحَدًا — to anyone. A bare indefinite noun, 'anyone', the object: the deeds must not be shown off to a single soul. Its indefiniteness under the negation gives the sweeping 'no one' sense.

Then a wolf came upon one of them.
أَحدهمَا — one of them. This word means 'one of' and carries a tail pronoun 'them two', dual again, reaching back to the two boys. Sitting after a preposition, it takes the post-preposition case. The dual tail keeps tracking that there are precisely two, so 'one of the two' is the exact sense, and reading it means following that pronoun back to the right pair.

And they unanimously agree that whoever denies any letter upon which there is consensus or adds a letter not recited by anyone, while being aware, is a disbeliever.
أَحَدٌ — anyone. An indefinite noun 'anyone' serving as the doer of the passive-framed 'is recited by it'; with the negation it means 'no one recites it'. The bare indefinite plus the earlier 'not' is how Arabic builds 'not anyone'. It is in the nominative as the one who would do the reciting.
