How to say “comes near” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فيبصرهم الناظر، ويسمعهم الداعي، وتدنوا منهم الشمس، فيبلغ الناس من الغم والكرب ما لا يطيقون ولا يحتملون ،
The onlooker will be able to see all of them, and the caller will be able to make all of them hear, and the sun will come near them, so the people will reach a level of distress and anxiety they cannot bear or endure.
وَتَدْنُو — and...will come near. The wa- on the front is the linking 'and'. The present-tense verb carries 'it' inside its shape and agrees as feminine with the sun that follows it, so it states the sun's drawing near with the subject named in the next word.
