Arabic vocabulary
How to say “disparage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وكذلك إذا جحد التوراة والانجيل أو كتب الله المنزلة أو كفر بها أو سبها أو استخف بها فهو كافر
Likewise, if one denies the Torah, the Gospel, or the revealed books of Allah, or disbelieves in them, or insults them, or disparages them, he is a disbeliever.
اسْتَخَفَّ — disparages. A past-tense verb 'disparaged' with the 'he' doer built in. The prefixed shape gives it a 'treat as slight' force, like the earlier belittling verb. It names the last offence before the verdict.
