How to say “emigrants” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فقراء المهاجرين أتوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالوا ذهب أهل الدثور بالدرجات العلى، والنعيم المقيم
The poor among the emigrants came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and said: 'The wealthy have taken the highest ranks and everlasting blessings.'
الْمُهَاجِرِينَ — the emigrants. This completes 'the poor of the emigrants', in the genitive as owner. It is a sound masculine plural built on an active participle, 'those who migrated' — the Meccans who emigrated to Medina. Its ending fits the possessive bond.
