  And He informed that with patience and piety the plotting of the enemy does not harm, even if he were granted authority.

  الْعَدْوِ — the enemy. Made definite by al- and serving as the owner half of the 'of' chain ('the plotting of the enemy'). It takes the genitive as the possessor, and its 'the' fixes the whole pairing as definite.
